A 70% kid mohair and 30% silk laceweight from Koigu, hand-dyed in small batches right in Grey County, just down the road from us. Mohair and silk is a classic combination for good reason: the kid mohair gives it that beautiful, wispy halo and surprising warmth, while the silk adds a subtle sheen and just enough strength to keep it manageable to work with. You can use Sofie on its own for delicate, airy shawls and scarves, or hold it alongside another yarn to add a soft halo and an extra layer of warmth, which is a really popular technique right now for sweaters and cardigans. The colourways are hand-dyed in Koigu's signature painterly style, so each skein has its own character. A lovely thing to have in your stash.
