A 100% baby merino laceweight yarn, hand-dyed in rich, expressive colourways in Uruguay. Malabrigo Lace is spun from fine merino wool bred for generations by ranchers in northern Uruguay, and the quality really shows in how soft and squishy it is in the hand. It is a single-ply yarn, which gives it a beautiful drape and allows the hand-dyed colours to really glow, though it is worth knowing that single-ply yarns are a little more delicate to work with than plied ones. It blocks beautifully and the finished fabric is fluid and lightweight. It also works really nicely held double for accessories or colourwork if you want a bit more body. One thing to keep in mind: as with all Malabrigo, skeins can vary between dye lots, so it is worth buying enough for your whole project at once.
